That being said, it’d be nice if there were a multi-door function, but what are you gonna do?

How much easier can it get than controlling your garage doors via a mobile deviceApparently, a heck of a lot easier thanks to the NXG-100b’s compatibility with three popular online services. Control your garage door from a distance with the help of Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. And if you’d like to create open/shut schedules for your door, check out IFTTT’s services. They’ll also send email or text alerts letting you know who accessed the device and when.

Iffy Tech Support

Since smart garage door openers are a relatively new product, it makes sense for manufacturers to have call centers on standby for most of the day. This is true with Nexx Garage, and from our experience with contacting them (problem regarding connecting the NGX-100b to Amazon Alexa [not showing up]), they were extremely helpful in solving the problem.

However, numerous customers have experienced something entirely different. Either tech support was unwilling to help or (infinitely worse) didn’t know how to solve the problem after the device’s warranty expired. We’d recommend, if possible, speaking with a sales rep before settling on the NGX-100b for your garage-door-opening needs.

Verdict

It’s clear that our experience in installing and using this product differs greatly from many others, so the best we can say about the Nexx garage NXG-100b is that you’re either getting a really great product or something that might disappoint you later on. Assuming you’re not experiencing any problems with setting up the device, you should be more than satisfied with the several features that it has to offer.

The thing we love best about the NGX-100b is its automated notifications alerting us who has accessed the door and when. It really keeps us in the loop on what’s going on at home, even if we’re on the other side of the planet or town.
