Speed and Power

In terms of speed, the 2753-20, 2757-20, and the 2760-20 can deliver up to 3,700 IPM, 3,000 IPM, 4,000 IPM. The 2750-20 and the 2760-20 models feature a 3-speed motor which offers much more control over speed compared to the 2-speed motor of the 2757-20. The problem with fewer gears is that their top speed for each gear might be too fast for beginner users to handle. Veteran craftsmen won’t have this issue since they’re most likely adept at managing touch-sensitive triggers such as the ones found in these three Milwaukee models.

When measuring torque, the 2753-20 and the 2757-20 both can reach a maximum of 1,800 inch-pounds, whereas the Milwaukee 2760-20 Impact Driver only clocks in at 450 inch-pounds of torque. That being said, these three models require a single company-made 18V Red-Lithium battery to operate. On average, a fully charged battery allows up to 30 minutes of use before refueling. The battery charger (sold separately) can fully charge a battery in roughly 60 minutes, so customers will need to buy a pack of at least three Red-Lithium batteries to reduce downtime.

This is exclusive to the 2757-20 model only. The other two models’ settings are configured using the onboard settings located on their bases. The Smartphone app for the 2757-20 model lets the user select a preconfigured speed and mode settings with a tap of your phone’s screen, and you can also manually configure the impact driver’s setting via the Smartphone app for a number of different applications. You can also customize and save four settings to your liking, depending on what you want the device to do for you.

Although you have more control over how the impact driver performs, and the app was well-designed and had no problem installing and using it, we found the app to be a nice touch with very little value. There are some workers who prefer managing their power tool’s settings using an external tool like a Smartphone, but in the end, the hassle of taking the phone out to implement speed changes is just too much for us.

In addition, the 2757-20 impact driver uses Bluetooth technology to track its location. Users no longer need to worry about the tool growing legs and making its way out of the toolbox. As long as it’s connected to your Smartphone via Bluetooth, you’ll know where it is.
