Bosch Blaze GLM20

The GLM20 is the tiniest laser measure of the four Bosches in this comparison. It has a maximum effective range of 65 feet with only a ± 0.125-inch margin of error, which is almost negligible, despite being the highest margin of error between the four.

Bosch Blaze GLM50C

As we move on to the next Bosch laser reader, you’ll find that they have effective measuring ranges that far surpass the GLM20’s 65-foot capacity. For instance, the GLM50C, like the GLM165, can take in the distance of two objects up to 165 feet apart. Best of all, it has a minuscule margin of error of ± 0.0625 inches. This will make it perfect for real estate agents, construction workers, which is hardly anything in the grand scheme of things.

Like the GLM20, the GLM50C can measure distances in real-time and lock the current measurement with one or two clicks of the large red button. Bosch Blaze GLM165

In many ways, the GLM165 and the GLM50C are one and the same. They both have a 165-foot measuring range with a ± 0.0625-inch margin of error. They can record real-time distances between two objects, as well as convert units from inches to feet and inches or meters (and vice versa). In addition, they both share the same functions, including calculating area, volume, and indirect distances between two adjacent surfaces.

Downloading the Bosch app will also let you measure the distance between two points in an image by sliding your finger between them. For the most part, the GLM165 and the GLM50C aren’t very different.

The only real difference between them is that the GLM165’s memory can only store up to 40 measurements. Compared to the GLM50C’s 50-measurement storage, you’re not really losing out on much.

Bosch Blaze GLM400CL

Last but definitely not least, we have the largest of the Bosch laser measures— the GLM400CL.The first thing should take notice of is its astounding measurement range of 400 feet, making it more than twice as powerful as the two previous Bosch models.

In terms of functionality, the GLM400CL, the GLM165, and the GLM50C don’t differ at all. You can measure distances in real-time, lock measurements for future use, calculate area and volume, and take indirect measurements. You’ll also gain the same awesome Bluetooth support that makes Bosch laser measures so versatile and easy to use.

However, there are two major points of difference between the GLM400CL and the others. First and foremost, the GLM400CL can save up to 400 measurements, which is 8 times as many as the GLM50C. Do you need that much storage space? Professional contractors and real estate agents might.

Secondly, the GLM400CL runs on rechargeable Li-Ion batteries, whereas the three models from earlier require at least 2 AAA batteries to operate. The GLM400CL can record up to 10,000 measurements on a single charge—the same as the others on full batteries.
